8 Clockwise is a story told through a number, a direction, and a mark; focused on taking the human energy access from Finite to Infinite.
The brand symbolizes the mission of driving energy access and decarbonization at scale, starting from the earliest stages of innovation to scalable impact. At its core, 8 Clockwise represents cycle of continuous improvement and innovation to tap into the various forms of infinite energy, all around us.
The sun takes 8 minutes to reach Earth—a simple, profound fact that becomes the heart of the metaphor. That finite 8-minute travel represents infinite energy. 8 Clockwise channels this idea: a journey to transition from today’s limited access of energy to tomorrow’s abundant, democratized and infinite access to clean energy.
Finite to Infinite- subtly represented by the “clockwise” motion of a finite number 8 transforming into infinity symbol. Clockwise is how time moves forward for humans. It evokes forward motion and progress—mirroring the journey from pre-seed ideas to scalable, sustainable impact.
The visual mark of 8 Clockwise embodies this very idea of transformation. As you turn the number 8 clockwise, it becomes the infinity symbol (∞) – a mark of continuity, sustainability and boundless potential. The logo includes a cut at the top of the 8 – a small yet intentional design feature. This cut signals that the 8 has been turned clockwise, and not counterclockwise, to form the infinity symbol with a cut on right. This then also resembles the letters ‘o’ & ‘c’, which are the very heart of the word Clockwise.
